After the Hannover show we had two shows in The Netherlands, in Tilburg and in Amsterdam. It´s always good to be in Holland. We had a dinner at Hard Rock Cafe in Amsterdam. On the 12th. and the 13th. it was time for Norway. We had a nice ferry ride from Denmark to Kristiansand, Norway. We were almost like real tourists :-)

The Last shows of this tour we had in Sweden so we were basically at home already :-) Actually we are still in Stockholm when I´m writing this, so we have still one show ahead of us. We ordered some Swedish meat balls as an after show food, so no more pizza!!! never :-) Happy Holidays for everyone from us all!!

Nov 28.-Dec 08.

On the 28th we played at Heineken, Madrid. Then we had to cancel the French shows ´cause Tony´s voice needed a rest and he was feeling quite ill. We drove straight to Dortmund in Germany where we played on wednesday the 2nd. We had a couple days rest at the hotel. We had chance to go to "Alice In Chains" show to Munich on Monday. We took the train with Ville (monitor tech.). The show was a killer!!

Then we head to England to have some shows in London, Prestatyn and Dudley. Pretty decent shows, the London show was sold out. In Prestatyn we played at Hard Rock Hell Festival and met the the guys of Korpiklaani and had some drinks...On the 6th we played in Antwerp, Belgium at Hoft Ter Lo. Then on the 7th we had a day off in Hannover where we played the next day.

Nov 22.-27.

On the road again! Once again we played a killer show at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland. Really cool place in many ways. One is that they have a washing machine. We celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the release of Sonata´s first album "Ecliptica".

After that on the 23. and 24. we had shows in Germany, Stuttgart and Nurnberg. On wednesday we played in Milan, Italy. Really great once again. In Italy we always have such a huge audience. 26th was a day off for us and we stayed in some fancy hotel in Spain. I can´t remember the name right now, but the view was really awesome as you can see!

European Tour "Last Amazing Grays 2009"

Nov 12.-21.

Hola!

We had a such a good start to this tour with Delain and Winterborn. We played cool shows in The Czech, Slovakia and Serbia. And for the first time ever in Slovakia and Serbia, so it was really exiting for us. And the shows were super cool! You fans are awesome!

We got to Hungary and Tony was feeling a bit sick. It turned out that he had some problems with his throat and especially, his voice.. We had to cancel the two Austrian shows and the Munich show. It´s a pitty, but we will make it up to you, the fans. We promise.

We have now stayed at the same spa-hotel in Austria for three or four days and it´s starting to be really boring, Everything is really nice and even the sauna is...almost perfect..but it´s not funny to just lay down when there´s some work to be done. As you can see from the picture, the room of Marko and me is starting to be a "logistic nightmare" ;-). We just have to cope this situation. For one thing, I already know that Tony is feeling much better right now. Hope all works out well, we want to kick some ass!!

Viikko 5

Viikko alkoi Hartfordin keikalla. Paikka oli tuttu Webster-teatteri aikaisemmilta kiertueilta. Heräiltyämme teimme pienen kävelylenkin ja haimme laatikolliset pitsaa. Keikkakin meni hyvin. Tiistain Chesvickin Ches-a-rena Areena oli uusi paikka meille. Samassa kompleksissa sijaitsi Cowboy-kauppa. Ostimme Tonyn kanssa vähän nahkaliivejä ja stetsoneita..Ameriikan malliin...

Keskiviikkona oli vapaata, ja ajoimme suoraan Londoniin Canadaan. Hotellissa oli sauna ja oikein hyvä sauna olikin. Ollaankohan me nyt viiden viikona aikana päästy kolmesti saunomaan..no aika hyvin kuitenkin. Köpöttelimme hieman Londonin kirkonkylällä. Aika lailla Tampereen kokoinen paikka, kuulemma. Löyty sieltä Alko. (siis paikallinen..) Londonin Music Hall oli ihan asiallinen paikka suihkuineen ta tarjoiluineen.

Clevelandin Peabody´s ja Louisvillen Uncle Pleasant´s olikin jälleen vanhoja tuttavuuksia. Melko pieniä paikkoja molemmat. Pienet lavat molemmissa eikä oikein kunnon fasiliteetteja..ei suihkua, et takahuonetta jne.

Edessä on viimeinen keikka muutaman tunnin päästä Milwaukeen "The Rave"-kerholla. Viimeinen keikka onkin oikein kunnon festari. Täällä soittaa mm. Dethklok ja Mastodon. Katsotaan mitä kivaa keksitään viimeiselle keikalle. Ostin eilen kunnon ameriikan sämpylän. Ei voi pieneksi haukkua..

Week 5

The week started from Hartford. We played at Webster Theater. We have played there before so it was familiar. After we woke up we went for a walk to have pizza. The show went well as well. Tuesday´s show at Chesvick´s Ches-a-rena was new place for us. There was also this nice cowboy store so we went there with Tony to buy some Stetsons and leather vests..The American style..

Wednesday was off day. We drove straight to London, Ontario, Canada.The was a very nice sauna in the hotel so it was super cool. I mean warm :-) On the next day we played at Music Hall. Really cool place with showers and everything.

Cleveland´s Peabody´s and Louiville´s Uncle Pleasant´s were also familiar places for us. Pretty tiny clubs, them both, small stages and with no showers and basically not even backstages.

We still have one more show to play at The Rave club in Milwaukee. It´s some kind of festival. There´s also Dethklok and Mastodon playing if I´ve understood correct. Let´s see what fun we come up with for the last show. Yesterday I bought this huge sandwich. The American way..not too small..

Viikko 4

Viikko alkoi mukavasti vapaa-päivällä Albanyssa. Hotellista löytyi ihka oikea Sauna Metos-kiukaalla. Sähkövastukselle ei saa täällä Ameriikassa kataa vettä (suomeksi: heittää löylyä..) Siinä voi henki mennä...mutta: uhmasimme kohtaloa viskomalla vettä kiville. Lauteita ei oltu korotettu, joten löylyt tahtoivat mennä yläpuolelta ohi,.mutta: mepä otimme seisovat löylyt....

Tiistaina soitimme legendaarisella The Fillmore-klubilla New York Cityssä. Paikka oli niin legendaarinen, että siellä ei ollut edes suihkua meille. Mitä legendaarisempi rokkari, sitä paskaisempi...NY-Citystä jatkoimme matkaamme Baltimoren Ram´s Head Liveen. Oikein mukava paikka kaikkine fasiliteetteineen. Torstain vapää-päivän vietimme, yllätys yllätys New York Cityssä. Shoppailimme hieman Manhattanilla. Kolee mesta..

Viikonlopun keikkaputki käsitti Worcesterin "The Balladiumin", Poughkeepsien "The Chancen" ja Philadelphian "Theatre Of The Living Artsin". Philadelphian keikka oli viimeinen Dragonforcen kanssa tälle kiertueelle. Seuraavan viikon soitamme vielä omia headline-keikkoja. Ohessa vielä muutama kuva: mm. Amerikkalainen kansanperinneruoka sekä mm. Henrikin ja Dragonforcen Vadimin soittama kosketinsoitin-duel.

Week 4

The week started off nicely with a day off in Albany. We got a real Sauna in the hotel. Really good steams. In Finland we got one sauna per five persons. That´s something like over 1 million saunas. Americans don´t know hot build a proper sauna. "Don´t poor water on the stones" ?????? In Finland, sauna rule number 1: poor water to the stones and enjoy!! I like sauna so much so I´m sorry if I got a bit carried away.

On Tuesday we played at the legendary Fillmore-club in NYC. It was so legendary that they didn´t have any showers for us. You know, the more legendary the rocker is, the shittier (smellier) he/she is. From New York City we continued our road trip to Baltimore´s Ram´s Head Live. It´s a really cool place with all the facilities. On Thursday we had a day off , surprise surprise, in NYC.We did some shopping in Manhattan.

Weekend´s shows were at "The Balladium" in Worcester, on Saturday at "The Chance" in Poughkeepsie and "Theatre Of Living Arts" in Philadelphia. Sunday´s show in Philly was the last show with Dragonforce for this tour for us. Next week we are still doing six headline shows here in the states before we leave.

Viikko 3

Maanantaina soitimme ensimmäistä kertaa Kansas Cityssä. Marko otti Dragonforcen Hermannilta pikku sparraus-haasteen vastaan, kuten kuvasta näkyy...Tiistaina oli vuorossa Minneapolis. Chicagon House Of Blues olikin tuttu paikka viime rundilta. Torstai oli vapaa-päivä. Päätimme ajaa suorilta Torontoon Canadaan, jossa meitä odotti Jere Lehtisen järkkäämät liput NHL-matsiin. Toronto Maple Leafs pelasi Montreal Canadiensia vastaan. (Suuri kiitos Jerelle lipuista!) Pelin jälkeen kävimme vielä Hard Rock Cafessa syömässä. Oli tosi kiva vapaa-päivä. Perjantaina oli sitten keikan aika Torontossa. Lauantaina Canadan valloitus jatkui Montrealissa ja viikonlopun kruunasi keikka Québecin Theatre Imperialissa.

Week 3

On Monday we played in Kansas City for the first time. Marko did a little sparring with Dragonforce´s Herman, as you can see from the picture. On Tuesday it was time for the Minneapolis show. Chicago´s House Of Blues was already a familiar place for us from the Nightwish-tour last year. Thursday was a day-off for us, so we decided to head straight to Toronto where we had NHL-tickets waiting for us. (A BIG thanx goes to Jere Lehtinen for those tickets!!!) Toronto Maple Leafs was playing against the Montreal Canadiens. It was a season opening game and a lot of people, cool! After the game we went to eat to Hard Rock and I had just perfect fajitas, ever! Really cool day off for us. On Friday we were back in business. We played at Sound Academy in Toronto. On Saturday we went off to Montreal and on Sunday finally played in Québec City´s Theatre Imperial. We had a great show there and lot´s of fans as well. We get quite a lot of these gifts from the fans, like this painting on the picture, really cool stuff! We really appreciate it.

Viikko 2

Kanada!

Rajanylitys-muodollisuuksien jälkeen matkamme jatkui kohti Vancouveria ja Commodore Ballroomia. Perille päästyämme kipaisimme Englantilaiseen pubiin aamiaiselle...Ensimmäinen Kanadan keikka sujui hienosti.

Seuraava päivä olikin vapaata. Hengasimme Kamloops-nimisessä kaupungissa. Tommy vuokrasi Ahtin kanssa Harleyt ja lähtivät huristelemaan.

23. päivä keskiviikkona oli vuorossa Edmonton. Keikkapaikka oli kivasti jättimäisen ostoskeskuksen yhteydessä, josta löytyi tavallisten kauppojen lisäksi mm. täysimittainen jääkiekkokaukalo, huvipuisto vuoristoratoineen, vesipuisto benjihyppyineen.. No, siinähän joutui vähän shoppailemaan..

Torstaina soitimme Calgaryssä MacEwan Ballroomissa, joka sijaitsee Yliopiston yhteydessä. Yliopistolta löytyi myös pubi, jossa kävimme syömässä...

Perjantaina löysimmekin itsemme Saskatoonista, joka on muuten Tampereen ystävyyskaupunki...Pyörähdimme Tommyn ja Tonyn kanssa syömässä taas kerran englantilaisessa pubissa...

Winnipegiin saavuttuamme huomasimme iloksemme, että Stratovarius-orkesteri oli majoittuneena samaan hotelliin, jossa myös meillä oli suihkuhuone. He viettivät vapaa-päivää ja tulivat katsomaan keikkaamme. Kivaa oli taas rahan edestä.

Sunnuntaiksi ajoimme jälleen Jenkkien puolelle viettämään vapaa-päivää Sioux Falls-nimiseen kaupunkiin, matkallamme kohti Kansas Cityä. Piipahdimme hotellin uima-altaalla virkistäytymässä. Paikallinen Mall oli mukavan lähellä, ja kyllähän se pubi sieltäkin löytyi...

Week 2

Canada!

After crossing the border our journey continued to Vancouver´s Commodore Ballroom. First when we got there we found a good English pub where to eat. Our first show in Canada for this tour was just perfect.

Next day was a day off for us. We spent the day in Kamloops. Tommy and Ahti rented Harleys and off they went..

On Wednesday the 23rd it was time for Edmonton. The venue was part of this huge mall. They even had an ice-hockey rink, an amusement park and water world in this mall..we did a little shopping..

On thursday we played in Calgary. The MacEwan Ballroom was actually located in the university of Calgary. There was also a nice pub in there so we went there to eat...

On Friday we found ourselves from Saskatoon which is a "friendship-town" of Tampere, Finland. I live close to Tampere so it was cool. Once again we found our way to the English pub with Tony and Tommy...

On the next day when we got to Winnipeg, we found out that Stratovarius was also in town and actually in the same hotel that we had a shower room in. They were having a day off and they came to see our show. We hung out a bit and had some fun!

Sunday was a day off for us. We stopped to spend it in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on our way to Kansas City. We refreshed ourselves by the pool in the hotel. The local mall was also near by and we found the pub in there, so it was a perfect place to eat some pizza there. Sweet.

The Last Amazing Grays US Tour w/ Dragon Force

Ensimmäinen Viikko (vko 38)

Aikaisin tiistai aamuna lähdettiin kohti Meksikoa. Ehdimme siis juuri pois "jaloista" ennen levyn julkaisua. The Days Of Grays albumi julkaistiin Suomessa seuraavana päivänä. Meksikossa vedettiin sisäfestarikeikka Monterreyssä. Paikalla oli myös muita Suomalaisia akteja, kuten Amorphis ja Children Of Bodom. Soitimme jo iltapäivästä ja jouduimme lähtemään lentokenttää kohti aikaslailla heti keikan jälkeen, joten ei ehditty paljoa rillutella poikain kanssa (mitä nyt vähän..)

Nokka kohti Kaliforniaa

Soitimme Kaliforniassa ensin yhden oman keikan Santa Anassa ennen Dragonforcen kiertueelle mukaan liittymistä. Galaxy Theatre oli paikkana tuttu entuudestaan. Seuraavana päivänä perjantaina soitimme Los Angelesin House Of Bluesissa ja lauantaina seurasi San Franciscon Regency Center. Hollywoodissa niinkuin Friscossakin ehdimme hieman jaloitella kylillä ja haistella paikallista ilmapiiriä. Kalifornian keikat menivät kyllä oikein malliikkaasti, mitä nyt pieni Jetlagi tahtoi puskea päälle.

Sunnuntaiksi bussimme oli yön aikana kuljettanut meidät Oregonin Portlandiin. Roseland Theatre oli keikkapaikkana tuttu viime syksyn Nightwish-kiertueeltamme. Pähkinänkuoressa uuden levyn kiertue on lähtenyt mallikkaasti käyntiin. Saimme uutisen, että The Days Of Grays ("T-DOG" kavereiden kesken) on myynyt Suomessa jo kultaa. Kiitos kaikille levyn ostaneille.

First week (week 38)

On Tuesday early in the morning we headed for Mexico. We nearly got out of the way when our new album "The Days Of Grays" was released on Wednesday in Finland. We had an indoors-festival show in Monterrey, Mexico. The were also such Finnish acts playing as Amorphis and Children Of Bodom. Our show was already in the afternoon and we had to leave straight away to the airport after the show, so we didn´t have the time to hung out with rest of the Finns. (well, of course a bit..)

Towards California

First when we arrived we had one own show in Santa Ana before we teamed up with Dragonforce. Galaxy Theatre was already familiar venue for us. On the following day on Friday we played at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood and then on Saturday at Regency Center in San Francisco. In Hollywood as well as in Frisco we had some time to walk around a bit and feel the local atmosphere. The shows in California went well even though I was suffering a bit from the Jetlag.

On Sunday we woke up in our bus from Portland, Oregon. We knew Roseland Theatre from our Nightwish tour last Fall. In a nut shell the tour has started pretty decent. We also got the news that our new album has reached gold in Finland already. Thank ou all who have purchased the cd.

Saavuimme yöjunalla Pietariin. Siitä hotellille aamupalan kautta jatkamaan unia. Iltapäivästä meidät kuskattiin keikkapaikalle soundtsekkiin. Keikkapaikka oli aivan valtavan kokoinen areena, josta oli lohkottu meille sellainen pienempi loossi. Alkuperäinen keikkapaikka oli lopettanut toimintansa, ainakin toistaiseksi. No mutta eipä siinä, vieressä rakennettiin seuraavalle päivälle hieman isompaa produktiota Boney M-nimiselle "aktille"...

Keikka oli Unia-kiertueen viimeinen, ja hyvin se meni. Vähän haikeat, mutta samalla huojentuneet ja iloiset tunnelmat oli. Vähän siinä hassuteltiinkin. Henkka ja mä vaihdettiin soittimia, jossain kohtaa vedettiin "Dallasia" ja ties mitä. Meidän kiertuehenkilökunta oli vaihtanut meidän "Band of Brothers"-outron "Vieläkö on villihevosia?"-kappaleeseen. Siinä sitten kumarreltiin yleisölle.

Loppuun vielä hehkutukset. Puolentoistavuoden Unia-kiertue on nyt takana päin. Päällimmäisenä on nyt tällä hetkellä yksi asia: uni... Tässä mielessä rundin nimi on ollut osuva :-) No ei vais, minulla on ollut ilo tavata mukavia ihmisiä, faneja, muiden bändien tyyppejä ympäri maailmaa. Ollaan käyty about 27 eri maassa soittamassa.. Kiitokset kaikille, henkilökunnalle, joka on venynyt välillä jopa ilmiömäisiin suorituksiin todellisuuden lyödessä kasvoille, Kiitos kaikille faneille, kaikille bändeille joiden kanssa olemme soittaneet. Nähdään pian! Toivottavasti jo ensi vuonna!

11/29/08 St. Petersburg, Russia

So, we got to St. Petersburg in the morning. After got the the hotel, had a fast breakfast and back to bed...In the afternoon we got to the venue for a sound check. The venue was this huge arena and it was divided with some curtains for us. The original rock club intended for us was shut down for some reason..But what the hell it was still ok. Next t our stage they were building a bigger stage for Boney M...

This show was the last one on this Unia-tour and we had a really good time on stage. I think we all felt a bit sad but at the same time relieved, and glad! At some point Henkka even played my guitar and I was handling the keytar! At some point we decided to play some "Dallas"-theme...Our crew had changed our "Band of Brothers"-outro to "Vieläkö on villihevosia?"-song..really weird stuff going on!

Finally I want to say to everyone who´s reading this, now that the "Unia-tour" is behind, after a year and a half, 27 countries, 150 shows, I´ve had a real pleasure to meet awesome and dedicated fans all around the world. I want to thank all of you fans, all the bands we´ve played with, our magnificent crew and all the local crews all around the world, the promoters, I mean everyone! I´m hoping t see you all soon, hopefully next year, who knows?! In a meanwhile, stay safe and remember to enjoy every moment of your life!! Rock!

Lähdettiin matkaan edellis-iltana Helsingistä. Edessä oli 12 tunnin junamatka Moskovaan. Venäläinen promoottorimme tuli meitä vastaan Helsinkiin, joten olimme alusta asti hyvissä käsissä. Matka sujui muitta mutkitta. Passeja tosin tarkistettiin ainakin 4-5 kertaa junamatkan aikana. Mutta meillä oli makuupaikat, joten pystyimme lepäämäänkin hyvin. Tosin taisi mennä aika myöhään ravintelivaunussa...

Moskovaan päästyämme juna-asemalla meitä odotti faneja toivottamassa meidät tervetulleeksi. Siitä meidät kuskattiin hotellille, jossa saimme levähtää muutaman tunnin ja pyyhkiä matkan pölyt pois. Ruuhkat Moskovassa oli niin massiiviset, etten ole missään ikuna nähnyt. Kuutta kaistaa meni yhteen suuntaan, siis ei moottoritiellä, vaan keskustassa...

Sound checkissä kaikki oli mallillaan ja hommat toimi. Saatiin hyvät ruuatkin, alkusalaatteineen ja -keittoineen. Keikka olikin edessä yllättävän nopeasti. Setti meni mukavasti ja kyllä ihmiset tykkäsi.Keikan jälkeen suihkut, Jägerit, McDonaldsit...perusmeiningillä. Kuuntelimme hieman hyvää musiikkia bäckärillä ja fiilistelimme, kunnes oli aika lähteä kohti juna-asemaa ja Pietaria. Ulkona meitä odotti ehkä parisenkymmentä, joiden kanssa jutskailimme siinä hieman ennen lähtöä.

11/28/08 Moscow, Russia

We left Helsinki the night before. We had a 12-hour train trip to Moscow ahead of us. Our Russian promoter was there to meet us in Helsinki, so we were in good hands. The trip went ok. The passports were checked at least 4 or 5 times, though. We had sleeping cabins so it was ok. We could sleep a little..Even though we enjoyed the restaurant of the train quite much :-)

We got to Moscow early in the morning and there were some fans giving us a warm welcome! From there we had a ride to the hotel. We had a chance to rest for a while. The traffic in Moscow was massive, I have never seen so many cars, even though Mexico city got close..

At the sound check everything seemed to be ok. We had a nice 3-course dinner at the venue and the show time was there in no time...The set went superb and the crowd loved us. After the show normal Jäger-shower-McDonald´s-basic stuff... We had a small party listening to music and having a good old time at the back stage, and soon it was time to head for the train station and St. Petersburg. Outside there were maybe 20 fans waiting for us and hung out with them for a short while.

Juu, oli Euroopan rundin viimeisen keikan vuoro. Lopulta herättyämme bussista tsekkasimme venuen, joka aivan tolkuttoman iso. Iltapäivällä oli aika hieman pakata matkalaukkua aamun lentoa silmällä pitäen. Tehtiin Henrikin kanssa yksi video haastettelu, ja tulipa tsekattua viimeinkin Vanishing Point ja Pagan´s Mind. Vaikkakin kyllähän nuo biisit olivat tulleet jo tutuiksi kuukauden rundin aikana! Hyviä bändejä ovat molemmat. Erityisen hyvällä syyllä tsekattiin miehissä tuo Vanishing Point, koska Tony kävi vierailemassa yhden biisin ajan!! Takki alkoi olemaan aika tyhjä kuukauden rundin jälkeen ja olo ja ulkomuoto alkoi muistuttaa Kissin julisteen "pelleä", kuten kuvasta näkyy... heh no, keikan jälkeen hyvästelimme lämppäribändin poikien kanssa ja Jägermeisteria taisi mennä tavallista enemmän..sitten kotiin pariksi päiväksi ja viikonloppuna kiertueen huipennus Venäjällä!!

11/22/08 Oberhausen, Germany

Yeah, it was time for the last show of this European tour! Finally after we got up in the bus we checked out the venue which seemed to be enormous! In the afternoon I packed my suitcase for the flight home which was due early in the morning...We did this video interview with Henkka and checked out both Vanishing Point and Pagan´s Mind. Of course we are familiar with the songs after touring a month with these guys...But this time we had a good reason to see Vaniching Point ´cause Tony was singing one song with them! I felt a "bit"" tired after a month´s tour and I think I started to look like this clown of Kiss-poster, as you can see...Well, after the show we said good bye to our opener bands and did some Jäger shots, I think more than usual. Then it wa time to go home for a couple of days. Then next weekend the, time for a grande finale, two last shows in Russia!

Oujee..Saatiin keikkapaikalla oikea baari takahuoneeksi. Tilaa oli temmeltää..Mentiin sound checkiin..lavalla haisi hirveä oksennus ja kukaan ei tiennyt mistä haju oli peräisin. Meinas laatta lentää..no ei sitä hajua sitten illalla enää huomannut..onneksi. Catering oli vimpan päälle taas. Keikka taisi olla jälleen loppuunmyyty. Nyt täytyy sanoa, että oli oikein erityisen kiva fiilis soittaa. Keikan jälkeen hengailtiin fanien kanssa hieman ja Pagan´s Mindin basisti Steinar viihdytti meitä eksoottisella “tansilla”…

Yeah! We got a whole bar for back stage, so cool! We got the sound check and there was this smell of puke coming from somewhere. I almost threw up! Oh well, but the smell was gone in the evening..But the catering was brilliant this time around. And the show was sold out I think. I must say that it was really nice to play this evening, I don´t know why it felt so special. Sometime it does I think..After the show we met some fans and Pagan´s Mind bassist Steinar entertained us with some exotic “dance”…

Eilinen toistui jälleen tuon nukkumisen osalta. Sen siitä saa kun täytyy kukkua pikkutunneille. Mutta ei sitä oikein untakaan tahdo saada suoraan keikan jälkeen, kun keho ja mieli käy kierroksilla. Sielu on tulessa! Heh…Takahuoneessa haiskahti hiukka home ja seinät oli silmin nähden märkiä..nooh, ei kaitsiinä..Kuunneltiin läppäriltä motivaatiomusaa mm. Maidenia. Mötiköitä, ja kaikkea “klassista”! Siinähän sitä piristyi. Kuteet niskaan, pari bissee huiviin ja lauteille. Mukavaa oli! Keikan jälkeen nähtiin faneja ja silleen.

This afternoon was a replay of yesterday what comes to sleeping. Well, that´s what you get when you have stay awake the whole night. It´s impossible to get sleep right after the show because of your mind and body are still over active. And the soul is on fire!!The back stage smelled a bit like fungus and the basement walls were wet. Oh well..We listened to some motivation music from Henkka´s laptop like Maiden, Motley etc. True classics! The music woke us up a bit so, changed clothes, had some beers and went on stage. Had some god time on stage again! After the show we met some fans.

Tulipas nukuttua taas soundcheckiin asti. Takahuoneessa piti vielä ottaa pikku päikkärit sohvalla ruuoan päälle. Vähän sellaista koiran untahan se on, mutta kuitenkin. Mahtava fiilis oli soittaa taas kaikesta väsystä huolimatta. Henkka veti taas raivokkaita basso-“licksejä” keikan jälkeen bäkkärillä. Ohjelmistoon kuuluu mm. Panteraa, Metallicaa etc.

Slept to the sound check again…After dinner had to continue sleeping at the backstage´s couch…Sleeping with one eye open, you know it´s not real sleep but still..Had fun time on stage again, I didn´t feel tired at all. After the show Henkka did very furious bass licks again including some Pantera, Metallica etc.

Sveitsissä on perinteikkäästi meille hyvä yleisö. Niin oli tälläkin kertaa. Porukkaa oli kuin pipoo niin sanotusti, oisko ollut 1500..Tehtiin parit haastattelut taas ja otettiin iisisti. Pyykkäysmahdollisuuskin oli järjestettynä, mikä oli oikein mukava ylläri. Suomalaisiakin tavattiin tällä kertaa. Henkka veti ennen keikkaa kunnon bassosoolot meille, juma!

Pratteln has been traditionally good for us. It was this time as well. The place was packed, I´d say 1500 people or something. We did some interviews again and otherwise just chilled out. We had also the possibility to do laundry and that´s really a treat for us on tour..We met some Finns also. Henkka did a bass solo for us before going on stage, damn…

Meille oli varattuna huoneet paikallisesta hotellista. Oli niin väsy, että tuli vain köllöteltyä hotellihuoneessa. Tilasin vähän sandwichejä huonepalvelusta ja lepäilin…Illalla kuitenkin käväisimme syömässä hotellin ravintolassa. Oli melkoisen A la Carte meninki, alkupalaksi oli yksi tomaatin slice kauniisti pienellä lautasella…Päätettiin käydä vielä saunassa, kun sellainenkin kerta oli tarjolla.. Lämpöa oli sopivasti 85 astetta, mutta kiuasta ei näkynyt missään. Kyllä siinä kuitenkin sielu lepäsi. Nam.

We had hotel rooms from the local Sheraton. I felt so tired that I just ordered some sandwiches from the room service and took it easy….In the evening we decided to go for a dinner to the hotel´s Sky bar restaurant. Pretty much A la Carte style, ´cause for starters we got one slice of tomato nicely set on the plate…We found out that there was a sauna in the hotel so we were there of course! The temperature was about 85 degrees celsius but no stoves to cast water on…It was still good for the soul, yeah…

Takahuoneen suihku oli mennyt tukkoon, joten vessan lattia lainehti vettä. Joo, no onneksi siellä oli erikseen naisten vessa, jossa pystyi suihkuttelemaan. Nyt ei kyllä taaskaan pysty valittamaan muuten ruuasta eikä muustakaan. Hieman oli ehkä kummalliset soundit lavalla soittaa. Ihan kiva keikka oli noin “sunnuntai”- keikaksi :-)

The shower´s blumming was stuck at the back stage so the water was flooding on the floor. Luckily there was a lady´s room with the shower and we just used it..Otherwise I can´t complain because the food and everything was brilliant again. A little bit weird sounding stage maybe, but that´s life. Pretty ok show for a “Sunday”-show :-)

Nyt päästiin ekaa kertaa Sloveniaan soittamaan, joten oli jännää. Meitä odotti mukava ja innokas yleisö ja oli hieno soittaa. Lava oli aikas pieni, mutta muuten suihkut ja kaikki tarjoilu oli oikein kohdallaan. Fanejakin tavattiin keikan jälkeen.

It was our first time in Slovenia so it was exciting for us to play there. There was a really nice and eager crowd waiting for us. The stage was quite small but otherwise everything like the showers was totally great. We met some fans after the show again this time. Good show!

Tuli nukuttua aikas pitkään, kun meni hiukkasen pitkäksi tuo edellinen ilta. Päästiin kuitenkin mukavasti perille Budapestiin. Samassa paikassa soitettiin viime vuonna. Hyvin oli porukkaa paikalla ja ruoka oli hyvää myös. Tosi vieraanvaraisia ovat ihmiset Unkarissa.

Markon ja Henkan kanssa pelattiin Playstationia vielä kuudelta aamulla…No ei siinä, tuli nukuttua koko päivä. Keikkapaikan yhteydessä oli kiva ostoskeskus, joten päätettiin käydä Mc Donaldsissa syömässä. Tulipa ostettua vähän tuliaisiakin kotiin tytölle. Ostin myös pikaliimaa, jota tarvin oikean käden etusormen kynteen. Tulee hakattua niin lujaa kitaraa joka ilta, että kynsi meinaa kulua totaalisesti puhki. Pikaliima auttaa kynttä kestämään..ei ohhelppoo..

We played Playstation with Marko and Henkka still 6 am…Oh well, There was a nice shopping mall next to the venue so we decided to go to Mc Donald´s ..I also bought some gifts to my girl…I had to buy super glue (for sniffing..) Well no, I need the glue for my right hand index finger´s nail. I play the guitar so aggressive that the nail almost wears off…It´s not easy you know..playing the guitar.

Oli tosi syksyinen ilma Italiassakin. No ei nyt varmasti yhtä kylmä kuin Suomessa. Lähdettiin hotellilta kymmenen aikaan aamulla. Siinä ehti bussissa nukkua sitten muutaman tunnin. Heräiltiin sound checkiin. Venuella oli niin pieni takahuone, ettei siellä voinut kaikki yhtä aikaa oikein hengailla, menin takaisin makaamaan punkkaan. Taitaa olla kiertue/ syysväsymys, kun ei oikein väsytäkään, mutta ei jaksa olla hereilläkään. Makasin muutaman tunnin punkassa (katakombissa) zombiena (elävänä kuolleena), siis olin hereillä, mutta en jaksanut noustakaan :-) Meille oli varattu ruokailu läheisestä ravintolasta. Saimme jälleen traditionaalisen Italialaisen illallisen pitkän kaavan mukaan. (spagettia, pastaa ja pihviä ym.) Tosi jees. Kyllä sitä aina piristyy kun pääsee soittamaan yleisölle. Taisi olla joku 1500 ihmistä katsomassa ja oli kyllä tosi mukava ilta. Keikan jälkeen meille oli varattuna hotellista suihkuhuone, jonne meitä sitten kuskattiin kolmea henkeä kerralla pikku Fordilla. Tosi fiksut suihkut ja pelit oli kyllä! Bussilla odotti lauma faneja varmaan parikin tuntia keikan jälkeen. Jaomme nimmareita ja otettiin kimppakuvia. Hieno meininkii! P.s. Yöllä pelasimme bussissa hieman Grand Turismoa…..

11/12/08 Piacenza, Italy

It was autumn in Italy as well, maybe not so cold than in Finland, though. We left from the hotel around ten in the morning. There was still enough time to continue sleeing in the bus. I woke up to the sound check. The back stage was so tiny that there wasn´t enough room for all of us, so I got back to the bus laying to my bunk. I didn´t feel so tired but I couldn´t be awake, I think it´s tour apathy or something..So I layed in my bunk a couple couple of hours, couldn´t sleep but didn´t have the stregth to get up. I felt basically like a zombie :-) We had a dinner in a local restaurant, traditional Italian good once again. (spaghetti, pasta, beef etc.) Awesome! Wen it was time to g on stage I seem to always find some new strength. Adrenaline starts to flow you know. I believe there was around 1500 people there to see us. I was really nice evening. After the show we had a shower room in a hotel and the guy drove us there with a little Ford three people at a time. The showers were really nice! When we got back there was a big bunch of fans waiting for us at the bus. We ha some time to hung with them so it was cool! Rock! P.s. We played a little bit of Grand Turismo at night on the bus…..

Oltiin perillä Italiassa joskus iltapäivästä. Tuli otettua iisisti hotellissa. Käveltiin illan suussa syömään rekkamiesten ravintolaan. Yöllä ei oikein uni tullut silmään, joten lukaisin Nikki Sixxin kirjan kerta heitolla.

We got to the hotel in Italy in the afternoon. We just chilled out in the hotel basically the whole day. We went out only to dinner. It was the only restaurant nearby, it was like for truckers. But the food was good traditional Italian food. I wasn´t feeling so tired when we got back to the hotel so I started to read Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx. Actually I read the whole book instantly.

Soitimme Bikini-klubilla. Uima-altaat ja kaikki oli pihalla, mutta oli kuitenkin niin kylmä, ettei pystynyt mennä polskimaan. Venukka vaikutti kaikin puolin fiksulta. Keskustaan taisi olla jonkun verran matkaa, joten pelasin PSP:tä kiihkeästi muutaman tehokkaan tunnin. Normaalisti en pelaa hirveästi, mutta kiertueella ja varsinkin pitkillä lennoilla pari tuntia kuluu tosi nopsakkaan pelin ääressä. Keikka sujui jälleen ilman ihmeempiä kommelluksia. Porukkaakin taisi olla mukavasti yli 600. Keikan jälkeen taas normi Pitsa/ Jekku- linjalla mentiin, tavattiin muutama fani pihalla ja jatkettiin matkaa kohti Italiaa…

11/10/08 Toulouse, France

We played at the Bikini Club. There were swimming pool outside, mutta the weather was too cold to have a swim. The venue seemed to be ok in every way. The venue wasn´t located totally in the heart of the city so I just played my PSP for a couple of intense hours. Normally I don´t play that much, but on tour and on long flights it takes a couple of hours off easily. The show went ok without any big disasters. There were maybe 600-700 people in the audience. After the show it was time for pizza/ Jäger as usually..we met some fans outside and soon it was time to head for Italy…

Viime kesänä käytiin soittamassa Kobetasonicin festareilla täällä. Nyt kuitenkin olimme ekaa kertaa Rock Star Live nimisessä paikassa soittamassa. Iltapäivällä herättiin soundcheckiin. Edellis-iltana juhlistimme hieman tulevaa isänpäivää. Saksalaista hirvi-limpsaa taisi mennä useampi pullo…Mutta onneksi saatiin hyvät ”mätöt”: nimittäin alkuruuaksi oli spagetti-boloneesea ja pääruuaksi pihvi ranskalaisilla. Tällä kertaa oli hieman pienempi yleisö kuin esimerkiksi eilen, mutta porukka oli kuitenkin ”täpinöissään”.

11/9/08 Bilbao, Spain

Last summer we payed in Kobetasonic Festival here in Bilbao. This time we played at Rock Star Live. In the afternoon we woke up to the sound check. On the folloving evening we celebrated the up coming Father´s Day :-) I think we emptied a few Jäger-bottles…But at least we got a good dinner, as a starter we got spaghetti bolognese and for the main dish it was steak with fries..Today it was a much more smaller crowd than for example yesterday, but the fans loved it!!
