Saavuttiin New Yorkiin iltapäivällä paikallista aikaa. Kelloja käännettin 7 tuntia taaksepäin, joten oli vähän väsy. Muutenkin lähtiessämme Suomesta meidän piti olla kentällä jo klo 5 aamulla..Tuli taas vähän pidempi päivä. Bussi noukki meidät kyytin ja tarkoituksena oli hakea vuokrasoittopelejä Nycistä. Lähinnä kaikki isommat, rummut ja vahvistimet, joiden rahtaaminen olisi hiukka kallista. Siis oli halvempi vuokrata paikan päältä. Heitettiin bussilla vähän lenkkiä Manhattanilla, se on kyllä hieno paikka. Yksi hienoimmista. Viimeksi kun oltiin soittamassa New Yorkissa Manhattanilla BB King´sissä meillä oli aikaa pyöriä ja katsella nähtävyyksiä. Käytiin mm. Empire State Buildingissa.

Lähdettin ajamaan kohti Hartfordia, joka on n.200 mailia New Yorkista pohjoiseen. Sitä ennen päätettiin poiketa syömässä ja hakemassa vähän ”evästä”...Huomattiin olevamme Bronxissa, joten päätettiin liikkua yhdessä koossa. Ettei vaan olis sattunut mitään...Hyvinhän me siellä pärjättiin. Naureskeltiin, että ”harvemminhan sitä kaljaa tulee ostettua Bronxissa, joten otetaan vähän reilummin..” Nooh, uni tuli melko aikaisin aikaerosta ja pitkästä lennosta johtuen.

We arrived in New York in the afternoon local time. There was a 7 hour time difference so everybody was feeling somewhat tired..Also when we left Finland we had to be in the airport 5 am. Quite long day we had. The bus picked us up and we were supposed to pick up some rental backline, amps and drums etc. It´s more cheaper to rent than ship them overseas. We drove around Manhattan. Damn it was so cool to be there again. Last time we were in New York we played in Manhattan at BB King´s. We had a chance to visit Empire State Building for example.

We headed for Hartford which is approximately 200 miles north from New York. Before that we decided to go and have a bite and buy some “refreshments” from the local mall. We noticed that we are in Bronx. So we decided that we move together..We had no problems though. We were laughing something like “Very rarely we are buying beer in Bronx so I say we take a little bit more..” Oh well, it was time to sleep sooner than we thought due to a long flight and the time difference..
